La tesis doctoral sobre el proyecto ciudadesamigables.org ha sido defendida este 18 de enero en la Universidad de Deusto y con la particularidad de haber sido realizada “en transferencia”con Zerbikas.
La doctoranda, ya Doctora Ángela García Pérez, realizó su exposición en inglés como parte de la mención internacional (habiendo disfrutado de una estancia con Andrew Furco, en la Universidad de Minnesota). “Service Learning and Responsible University Social Innovation in the Project Hiri Lagunkoiak- Friendly Cities 4All “ ha sido dirigida por Aurelio Villa y Aitziber Mugarra, con el tribunal conformado por Miquel Martínez, Lorraine McIlrath e Iciar Elexpuru.

LABURPENA
Doktoretza tesi honek unibertsitateko berrikuntza sozial arduratsua aztertzen du, Friendly Cities 4All ekimenaren barnean. Hau ikasketa zerbitzu solidario proiektu bat da, hau da, proiektuetan oinarritutako ikasketa modu bat, helburu solidario bat duena. Friendly Cities 4All proiektuak hirietako erabilerraztasuna gizartearen kontzientzietan sartzeko helburua du, Zerbikas Fundazioaren laguntzarekin (Ikasketa Zerbitzu Solidarioaren sustatzailea Euskadin), eta beste talde batzuen lankidetzarekin: inbestigazio talde bat (ingenieritza, zuzenbide eta hezkuntza arloetako profesionalekin), ikastetxeak, ezgaitasunen inguruko elkarteak eta pertsona nagusien elkarteak.2012tik 2017ra 1000 pertsonak hartu dute parte proiektu honetan: hiriko erabilerraztasuna aztertu dute talde mixtoetan, haien aurkikuntzak OpenStreetMap-en eta haien herrietako informeetan partekatuz.
Tesi honek bi prozesu nagusi ditu Friendly Cities 4All proiektuaren barne: alde batetik, hezkuntza arloko pertsonek egindako inbestigazioa, eta bestetik tesiaren doktoreak egindako inbestigazioa beste taldeak prozesuan jarraituz. Ondorioen artean, bi nagusitzen dira: hezkuntza arloaren garrantzia ikasketa zerbitzu proiektuetan, eta unibertsitatearen laguntza proiektu hau aurrera atera ahal izateko.
Proiektu honek Portugaleteko udaletxearen, Espainiako Zientzia eta Teknologia Fundazioan, Deustuko Unibertsitatearen eta Eusko Jaurlaritzaren diru laguntza jaso du, beste batzuen artean. Parte hartu duten elkarte guztiak ciudadesamigables.org web-orrian agertzen dira.

RESUMEN
La presente tesis doctoral analiza la Innovación Social Universitaria Responsable en la iniciativa comunitaria Friendly Cities 4All. Éste es un proyecto educativo de Aprendizaje y Servicio Solidario (ApS), es decir, de Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos con un fin solidario. Friendly Cities 4All promueve la conciencia cívica en accesibilidad urbana, con la coordinación de la Fundación Zerbikas (Centro promotor de ApS en el País Vasco) junto a un equipo investigador interdisciplinar (Derecho, Ingeniería y Educación) y diferentes stakeholders como colegios, entidades de discapacidad y de personas mayores. Desde 2012 a 2017, 1000 personas han participado en este proyecto: han mapeado la accesibilidad de su entorno en grupos mixtos (jóvenes y personas con movilidad reducida), compartiendo sus resultados en OpenStreetMap y en informes ante sus municipios.
La tesis recoge evidencias de dos procesos de Investigación-Acción (IA) en Friendly Cities All: por un lado, la IA realizada por los protagonistas pedagógicos (se analizan cualitativamente sus percepciones); y, por otro, la IA realizada por la doctoranda en su acompañamiento educativo a los stakeholders (se analiza a través de estudio de casos). Entre las conclusiones, se destaca la pertinencia del rol de acompañamiento educativo en los proyectos de ApS y la contribución de la universidad a este trabajo en red.
Este proyecto ha recibido financiación del Ayuntamiento de Portugalete, de la Fundación Española de Ciencia y Tecnología (FECYT), de la Universidad de Deusto y de Gobierno Vasco (becas predoctorales), entre otros. ABSTRACT
This doctoral thesis analyses Responsible University Social Innovation in the project titled Friendly Cities 4All. This was a Service Learning project in education, i.e. in learning based on solidarity projects. Friendly Cities 4All fostered civil awareness in urban accessibility, and was coordinated by the Zerbikas Foundation (a Service Learning centre in the Basque Country, Spain) jointly with a multidisciplinary research team (Law, Engineering and Education) and a range ofstakeholders such as schools, associations of people with disabilities and pensioner’s groups. From 2012 to 2017 1,000people participated in the project, mapping accessibility in their surroundings in mixed groups (young people and people with reduced mobility), and sharing their results in OpenStreetMap and in reports to their local councils.
The thesis sets out research evidence from two Action Research processes from Friendly Cities 4All. The first wasundertaken by the project’s educators (whose perceptions are analysed qualitatively), and the second by the authorduring her educational support of the stakeholders (who are analysed in case studies). Among the findings, the most notable were the role of educational support in Service Learning and the university contribution to this networking project.
The project was funded by the city council of Portugalete, the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT, in its Spanish initials), the University of Deusto and the Basque regional government (through pre-doctoral grants) amongst others.
